    More basecoating!
Slowly making progress. I should be done with the basecoating by tomorrow, then I can begin shading. Here's six pictures, three by me, three by Gen. It's pretty obvious who took what photos. XDXD

    Quick Hyrekia update
I figured that I'd get a little bit of work done last night and a little today. Did the eyes and started base coating the face and dress. It has a loooong ways to go. Not sure what color to paint the claws. Essie, do you have a preference?

Just a couple quick pics... )

    Basing!
So I've decided to do a custom base for Hyrekia. Nothing too crazy, but the sculpted base seemed too small.

This is huge. You have been warned...> <a href= )

    Experiment note
Recipe for a metal wash. GW Brown Ink, GW Blue Ink, GW Bestial Brown, VMC Glaze Medium, and water in a 3:3:1:6:6 ratio. Find something comparable to GW Bestial Brown, and try replacing the inks with RMS liners.

    Hyrekia - Day one
Not too much done today.  Primed her and laid on a layer of liner. . This is my first time using a liner, but it should make my basic lining a little bit easier.  I normally line my minis after mm base coat, so it should be interesting to see the results. I used a 1:3:3 ratio RMS(Reaper Master Series) Brown Liner, Vallejo Matte Medium and water. The liner really brought out a lot of details. I really like this sculpt; I'm going to order it for Gen in my next order.  I might paint one for myself.  Werner Klocke is definitely my favorite sculptor.

Before and after lining pictures ) Nothing really too big done today. I am quite pleased with the results of the lining, though. I think I'm really going to enjoy painting this.

    First post!
So here it is.  My mini LJ.  Hopefully, it interesting and useful.  I'm probably going to work on Essie's late birthday present tonight and update here with photos.  I figure at the least tonight I will finish cleaning and trimming the mini, as well as priming and lining.
